Things I Love to Collect: Tiger Fleece

I’m generally very picky about the materials I wear and there’s no company I love more for textiles than CYC Design Corp. CYC does the textile manufacturing and garment production for quite a few companies (Supreme) as well as their in-house lines: wings&horns, Reigning Champ and Spruce (RIP). The fleece that they use is probably the thickest, heaviest I have ever seen. They regularly do the Arc Hoodies for Supreme which include an inner thermal layer as well and they could easily stand up to any standard winter coat in terms of warmth. Also, CYC Design Corp is based in Vancouver, British Columbia and has regular sample sales (any one want to hook up?).

The garments are always pre-shrunk and constructed with the same overlock stitching of classic sweatshirts and are amazingly durable. The oldest item I have by CYC is just over 3 years old and it feels the same as it did after the first wash, if not more comfortable. The other fabrics that they use for other pieces (scarves/jackets) are also impeccable and worth every penny.

After getting one or two CYC fleece items a year, I finally decided to pick up a tiger fleece blanket and I’m happy to say that it stands up to most of the wool blankets that I have, looks amazing and doesn’t leave lint everywhere.

CYC is just one of those companies that consistently puts out great products, has a good design sense, is actually worth the price (compared to a lot of high-end fashion brands) and caters to the Canadian climate.

Disclaimer: I am not paid or in any way involved with CYC Design Corp. I just love what they do.
